Cleaning Kitchen Cabinets Inside & Out

cabinet

When taking on the HUGE task of cleaning kitchen cabinets it is best to work in sections in your kitchen especially if you are short on time.  You can tackle a few cabinets and drawers a day and within a week your cleaning project is complete!

First remove everything out of cabinet or drawer.    A vacuum is handy to get all the crumbs in the drawer.  Next use your favorite cleaner or just some warm water with dish detergent.  Clean. wipe & Dry.

On the outside of the drawer/cabinet same thing.   If there is grease use something like 4O9.  Rinse & Dry.  Wood cabinets apply your favorite wood cleaner.

Top of cabinets usually requires 4O9 or Hot Water & Soap and LOTS of elbow grease!  Dust and grease accumulate over time on tops of cabinets.  One of my most favorite cleaning  jobs.  (Not!)  After cleaning cabinets  line tops of cabinets with newspaper.  Next time to clean cabinets replace paper and all you have are the edges to clean.   This will save you so much time in the future!

Happy Cleaning!

Spring Cleaning-Kitchen Counter Top

Today I’m going to talk to you about cleaning the kitchen counter tops.  Not the cupboards, not reorganizing…just the counter top.

First declutter.  Anything that doesn’t belong on the counter put where it belongs.   Remember less is more in the kitchen.  If you normally keep your vitamins and papers lying on the counter…you might want to find new homes for them.  It’ll give you more counter space and look neater.

Next take off items you normally keep on the counter. (coffee maker, toaster, soap bottles, knick knacks, etc)  Set aside. You might need to work in sections through out your kitchen.

Now wipe down down the counters, the wall behind the counter, outlet covers, light switches,  sink faucet, etc.   You can use hot soapy water or if you have grease on your counters something like 4O9.

Next clean all the items you removed from the counter for the appliances even the cord.    Take your time and give everything a good thorough cleaning.  Put back on counter.

Repeat throughout the kitchen.

Very simple task to do and doesn’t take very long and makes a huge difference in the kitchen.

It’s also a good idea to do this not just for Spring Cleaning but at different times through out the year.  This will help keep your kitchen looking in tip top shape!
